1939: Earned pilot’s license

1940: Threw no-hitter vs. White Sox on Opening Day

1940: Won Triple Crown (27 wins, 2.61 ERA, 261 strikeouts)

1940: Sporting News Player of the Year

1940: Feller races a motorcycle. His pitch is estimated at 98.6 MPH

1941: Enlists following Pearl Harbor

1941-45: Served in World War II

1945: Returned from war

1946: No-hit the Yankees

1946: Set strikeout record (348)

1947: Began barnstorming against Negro League players

1948: Indians win World Series

1949: Injured shoulder in April
