Magneto
formed the Brotherhood of Mutants in order to promote and permeate mutant
superiority over humanity. The group’s goals have morphed from world domination
to thugs to terrorism thereby matching the era. They have been continually
thwarted by the X-Men. In a sense, they are the evil version of the civil
rights movement.
