Sci Fi History: The Curse of Frankenstein (1957)

Hammer Films Curse of Frankenstein ushered in a new era in horror films. The studio based the movie on Mary Shelley’s novel and its success led to six sequels and new versions of Dracula and The Mummy. Hammer films had its own distinct Gothic feel, which endeared the works to fans.  They felt real and often starred Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. Hammer picked up the torch from the old Universal monster movies and made it there own.

2367: Met his creator; Dr. Soong then faked his death. The elderly scientist later created an android body for himself, but surrendered it to save Data.

2368: Commanded USS Sutherland during Klingon Civil War. He proved instrumental in uncovering Romulan complicity in igniting the conflict.

2369: Killed, but revived after returning from the late 19^th century.

2370: Kidnapped and brainwashed by Lore. Lore had been experimenting on the Borg and late Geordi.

2370: Lost his memory and assimilated into a local tribe. They turned on him and “killed” him when they believed he was poisoning the village.

2371: Installed emotion chip

2372: Transferred to USS Enterprise-E

2373: Kidnapped by Borg queen. Helped destroy the Borg force that travelled to 2063 to stop First Contact.

2375: Data helped uncover Section 31 effort to remove the Ba’Ku and helped them defeat the Son’a.

2379: Destroyed destroying the Romulan flagship, Scimitar,  before it could destroy the Enterprise.

2384: Data had downloaded his memories to his brother, B4. Dr. Soong transferred those memories to a new body. Soong died in the process.

2387: Captain of the Enterprise. He commanded the ship in its attempt to help Ambassador Spock stop Nero and the Supernova that destroyed Romulus.

History Shorts: Muhammad's revelations (610 A.D.)

Muhammad was born around 570 and developed a reputation for honesty as a trader. Sometime around 610, he reported his first revelation from God.  Muhammad began preaching the word three years later. He asked people to submit to God and acknowledge the one God. His efforts gained few followers at first, but his message eventually led to one of the world’s major religions.
