Spock timeline


Born: 2230 (Vulcan)

As a child, he was betrothed to T’Pring

2237: Spock attempts kahs-wan ritual. His pet sehlat defended him from a le-matya and died. His older cousin saved him from the le-matya. At this point, he decided to follow Surak’s teachings.

2249: Spock opts for Starfleet over the Vulcan Science Academy

2250: Commissioned in Starfleet

2253: Assigned to USS Enterprise as an acting Ensign.

2254: Enterprise goes to Talos IV

2254: Spock programs Kobayashi Maru and eventually charges Kirk with cheating

2258: Spock from 24th century reemerges in an alternate timeline.

2261: Relationship with Leila Kalomi

2265: Kirk assumed command of USS Enterprise. Gary Mitchell is killed. Spock becomes first officer.

2266: Romulan incursion into Federation space, discovery of Romulan ancestry, and cloak.

2267: Kidnaps Pike and takes him to Talos IV to live out his days unhindered by his injuries.

2267: Spock commands away mission on Galileo shuttlecraft. It gets stranded on Taurus II.

2267: Spock undergoes Pon Farr

2267: Spock discovers time travel (in 1969).

2267: First Klingon War. Spock is present when Organians stop the war.

2267: Travels to 1930 with Kirk to find McCoy and stop him from saving Edith Keeler.

2267: Attacked by Neural parasite. Helps discover a “cure.”

2268: Babel Conference. He donates blood to save his father’s life.

2293: Saves Kirk and McCoy from Rura Penthe

2293: Khitomer Conference

2293: Spock becomes diplomat

2329: Marries Saavik

2368: Moves to Romulus hoping for Reunification

2376: Borg attempt to assimilate Spock

2377: Watraii Affair reunites Spock with Uhura, Scotty, and Chekov

2379: Spock helps negotiate with Romulans after the Shinzon Affair

2384: Leaves the Reunification movement to others.

2387: By this point, he is ambassador to Romulus.

2387: Supernova destroys Romulus. Spock collapses the Supernova and is sucked into the black hole. He is listed as missing.

Sci-Fi History: The Wolfman (1941)


The 1941 version of The Wolfman had a dramatic impact on the werewolf genre. Lon Chaney Jr. stars as Lawrence Talbot, who was bitten by a werewolf, and cursed. When the moon is full, Talbot becomes a werewolf and eventually develops into a tortured soul. Chaney’s portrayal was so popular, it spawned many sequels.  Many actors, writers, and directors were inspired by the film.

2246: Witnessed Governor Kodos massacre 8000 people, including Hoshi Sato, on Tarsus IV

2250: Inspired by his father, he enrolled in Starfleet Academy

2251: Participated in Axanar Peace Mission

2253-4: Served as Academy Instructor

2254: Became the only cadet to beat the Kobayashi Maru scenario

2254: Served on USS Republic

2254: Graduated from the academy; assigned to USS Farragut

2257: Captain Garrovick killed in battle against cloud creature. Kirk blamed himself for the deaths of 100s of shipmates.

2261: Son David is born

2264: Promoted to captain

2265: Assumed command of the USS Enterprise

2265: Crossed Great Barrier and is forced to kill his friend Gary Mitchell

2266: Romulans re-emerge after a century and engage Enterprise. They use a cloaking device and Starfleet learns what Romulans look like for the first time (at least officially).

2266: Kirk finds Kodos the Executioner alive. Kodos’ daughter accidentally kills her father.

2266: Spock hijacks the Enterprise to take Captain Pike to Talos IV

2267: Kirk is the first captain to be court martialed. He is acquitted when it is discovered Ben Finney is alive.

2267: First contact with the Gorn. Kirk fights a Gorn captain.

History Shorts: Adrianople (378 A.D.)


The Romans suffered a decisive defeat at Adrianople and never truly recovered. Emperor Valens battled Gothic rebels at Adrianople in Turkey. The Romans suffered 20,000 dead including the emperor.  The defeat left a large enemy force on Rome’s borders. The Eastern half of the empire entrenched and fended off the threat. However, the loss in manpower left the Western half open for the eventual collapse in 476.
